Excellent Victory for Under 11s In Season Opener

The Under-11s started their season with a match against Oxfordshire at Eynsham and came away with a resounding victory.  The mixed doubles partnerships were all new, but the lack of familiarity did not show as Warwickshire took all 6 rubbers to open up a good lead.  Ryan Baker and Emily Skillet showed great determination to win a difficult game, setting in the third end

The U11s also dominated the boys and girls singles winning 11 of the 12 games.  There were good performances throughout the team, but it was particularly pleasing to see the less experienced players growing in confidence as they won their games.

The doubles rounded off the match and Warwickshire took all of the games to complete a 23-1 victory.  Joe Scott and Sam Marshall recovered well from a difficult middle game to come back and beat their opponents convincingly in the third.

A good team performance and the match was played with a great competitive spirit from both teams.  The full team was; Caitlin Harper, Milly Evans, Mia Kirk, Catherine Wong, Emily Skillet, Megan Tweed, Nathan Moore, Daniel Hoare, Joe Scott, Sam Marshall, Daniel Watkins and Ryan Baker.
